it’s just one of those days.

Sometimes
I don’t think it’s possible
to feel any more
let down.

But then
you open your mouth
and spew out hatred
lies
fallacies
and you believe them.

Them.

The harbingers of
hatred
pumped full
of drugs and scorn

And you made
me
feel worthless
like a rusted penny
left on the street.

Now

You and your girls,
your girls,
your nineteen year-old
firm-skinned,
white-grinned
girls.

Take them
lay them down
enjoy what they have to give

and feel no regret.

You may not think it
But you let
me
down too.
